Looking for information about a former US Navy Seabee?

One of the most frequent inquires we get is for information about a former family member who served in the US Navy Seabees. The first step is to obtain a copy of his or her military record.

As a private museum, the Seabee Museum & Memorial Park does not have access to military personnel records, but a next of kin (surviving spouse that has not remarried, father, mother, son, daughter, sister, or brother) may request a copy of their military record from the National Archives.

You will need to know their full name of the veteran, his or her military service number or social security number. You must also provide proof of death of the veteran such as a copy of the veteran's death certificate, letter from funeral home, or a published obituary.

If you are not a next of kin, you must complete a Standard Form 180. Go to the National Archive site for this form
