From December 2004 through
March, 2005, as part of their mission as
"The Navy’s Goodwill Ambassadors," after a 9-magnitude
earthquake struck deep under the Indian Ocean
devastating villages in 6 countries, Seabees from MCB 7,
MCB 40, and UCT 2 conducted humanitarian assistance in
Indonesia and Sri Lanka as part of Operation Unified
Assistance. U.S.A.I.D. Administrator Andrew Natsios
said. "Without [the Military’s] strong logistical
support and
the staff and equipment they made available,
our response would not have been as effective
as it
was."

HELP US
KEEP THE HERITAGE ALIVE:
In a few years we have come a long way. The
infrastructure is becoming a reality. However,
we need your help.
MONETARY DONATIONS:
Regardless
of the amount, your contribution is very important
and deeply appreciated.
The Seabee Museum and Memorial Park is a
501
(c) (3) non-profit corporation and your
gift is most likely tax exempt.*
We have no paid staff - all those who work with the
Museum are volunteers. All of your donation will go
to Support the Museum.For larger
monetary donations, we would be happy to work with
you to use your donation for a specific project of
interest to you. Please
contact us to discuss a restricted memorial
donation.
The Seabee Museum
and Memorial Park is listed in the on-line
Rhode Island Foundation Directory of
Nonprofits and on
GuideStar, the leading on-line provider of
information about 501 (c) (3). To assist you in your
donor decision-making, click on their logos to the
left.
Once your
donation is received, we will send you a donation
letter that you can use to claim allowable tax
deductions.
The Museum is in the midst of a major fund raising
campaign, dubbed the "Can Do Building Campaign." Donations
to the Museum's Building Fund may be made in honor
of a fallen Seabee or to honor a Battalion or unit.
Please go to our
Building Fund page to learn more.
The Seabee Museum and Memorial Park’s policy not to

MEMORABILIA
DONATIONS:
We are
grateful for ALL donations... Battalion plaques,
personal items with Seabee logos, Cruise Books,
patches, photos, letters, memorabilia ... virtually
anything related to the US Navy Seabees or CEC.
Sadly, every day a
small part of Seabee history is lost forever. This
is usually a result of a family discarding the
cherished possessions of a deceased relative not
realizing the significance of the items and not
knowing where to send them. Seabee history often
ends up in yard
sale or on Ebay®.
Don’t let
these
memories of service to the nation country be lost to future
generations. Donate them to the Seabee Museum and
Memorial Park.
To donate
items print or download our
donation form.
Please indicate the value of your donation in the
"Goods" section. For smaller items, you can send
them to the Museum along with a completed form. If
you have large or bulky items and wish to discuss
pick-up or delivery, please feel free to
contact us.
Once your
donation is received, we will send you a donation
letter.
DONATE YOUR TIME:
And if you live in or
near Rhode Island, please consider donating your time.
Volunteers are always welcome. Each Wednesday morning a
group of retired Seabees and friends of the Museum
meet at the Museum. Please stop by, you will find a
warm welcome and a hot cup of coffee. If you are interested in
becoming a volunteer you can also call, 401-294-7233
(Wednesdays are best).
BEQUESTS:
You can you provide for the future support of the
Seabee Museum and Memorial Park by including a
charitable bequest in your will. The most common way
to do this is by preparing a new will or by adding a
codicil to your present will -- a simple statement
spelling out the beneficiary organization and the
gift. You may choose to bequest a specific dollar
amount, a percentage of your total estate, or
particular securities or other property.*
To make certain that your exact intentions are
carried out, wills and codicils should be prepared
by, or with the advice of your attorney.
VINTAGE
EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLES:
The Museum has a growing
collection of vintage military vehicles and equipment,
but we are always interested in obtaining additional equipment.
High on our "wish list" would be a military Jeep.
If you can
make a vehicle donation, please
contact us first. Or
you call us at 401-885-2383 (Wednesdays are best). We
can help arrange to get the donation to the Museum. Once
your donation is received, we will send you a
donation letter that you can use to claim allowable
tax deductions.*
THE
FIGHTING SEABEES:
The
late John Wayne became associated with the Seabees in
1944 while making the motion picture, "The Fighting
Seabees." he supported the Seabees for the rest of
his life.
We are especially interested in donations of
items relating to this movie, such as posters, props,
etc.
The film used, as part of the soundtrack, "The
Seabee Song." This was originally composed in 1942 by
Sam Lewis and Peter DeRose and dedicated to the Seabee.
In connection with the movie "The Fighting Seabees," the music was re-released
in 1944 with photos from the movie.
To donate
"The Fighting Seabees" items to the Museum, print or download our
donation form.
Please indicate the value of your donation in
the "Goods" section. Once your donation is
received, we will send you a donation letter
that you can use to claim allowable tax
deductions.*
